We are excited to produce an event that will bring the most masterful chainsaw carvers to our area!

This FREE event sees professional wood carvers from several states competing over a four (4) day period to create sculptures of their own creative design and chainsaw.  Anyone who has ever been to a chainsaw carving event knows how fun they are.  Watching often sublime works of art emerge from raw logs with the pass of a roaring chainsaw fascinates and delights spectators of all ages.

This event is open to the public, free of cost, and will be extremely popular with our community and throughout the Golden Triangle and Delta Region. Attendees get to see beautiful art as it's created, meet and chat with the artists, and even purchase a piece to take home!

The carving competition will take place on August 9 through 12 with family entertainment, vendors, and food trucks!

Additionally, the MSU Wood Science Fair will be there teaching children and families about the science of wood and its importance in our daily lives.

Don't miss the hour-long quick carves, which will be auctioned off on the spot on selected days of this event.

Don't forget! This is a competition. Bring the whole family out to see the completed wood carvings and vote for your favorite masterpiece carving (the big ones).
